Railroad Days 2010 is on track for Brea Downtown
Plans are well underway for the Southern California Railway Plaza’s 11th Railroad Days to be held May 1 & 2, 2010, in Brea Downtown. The free weekend of family activities will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, hosted by the Brea Downtown Owners Association.
Railroad Days will include an array of model-train layouts, garden railroads and rail-related displays on Birch Street at Brea Boulevard. Full-size rail equipment will be on exhibit at the nearby tracks on Berry Street, north of Imperial Highway. A shuttle will connect visitors to the two areas. The two-day event will also feature an entertainment stage spotlighting local performers.
The nonprofit SCRPA is presenting Railroad Days 2010 as a step towards their primary goal of creating the Southern California Railroad Experience (SCRX), which is being designed as the region’s premier destination attraction dedicated to the history of railroading in the Southland.
