38-Foot Radial-Shaped Sign Made Possible with New Technology

Brea, CA – (September 19, 2011) – Brea Downtown, a premier north Orange County retail, dining and entertainment center, has officially gone LIVE with a new 38-foot-long, high-motion, dynamic digital display sign just installed at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar. Wrapping itself half way around the restaurant, the new high-tech sign faces the highly trafficked Brea Boulevard and Imperial Highway and is a sparkling addition to an already jumping Brea hotspot.

“This sign truly illustrates the excitement and energy we have helped create in Brea Downtown,” said Dwight Manley, managing partner of Manley Fanticola Holdings, LLC and Brea Downtown property owner. “We wanted to do something here at our restaurant that was as unique as Brea itself and I think we’ve accomplished our goal.”

Installed just last week, the animated, light emitting diode (LED) sign is a technological feat created by Multimedia LED of Corona, Calif. The new LED sign will operate much of the day displaying sports scores, news updates, and seasonal and holiday messages along with Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant specials and event schedules.

Shannon Watson, president of the Brea Downtown Owners Association, commented, “The addition of this sign will bring the exposure and attention Brea Downtown deserves. We offer a truly unique dining, shopping and entertainment experience and this state-of-the-art sign will tell the community we are here and will help us promote all the great things we have going on in Brea Downtown.”

LED signage has revolutionized the retail signing industry, breathing new life into two-dimensional, traditional outdoor graphics and giving designers free rein to create whatever they can imagine.  The highly energy efficient displays offer clarity and animation capabilities not found, or even possible, on any other type sign.

Steve Craig, president of Multimedia LED, explained, “This sign is unique because of its size and its half-circle configuration. Flat signs are easy to produce, but signs that are curved are much more difficult.  This is probably the first radial-shaped LED sign in Orange County, and it has the tightest radius of any sign we’ve ever created.  In fact, we had to invent an entirely new module to ensure a continuous image was displayed on the sign.”

“This sign literally adds a new dimension to the Brea Downtown retail center,” said David Crabtree, city planner with the City of Brea. “The center itself is a highly sophisticated, exciting place to visit. The addition of this cutting-edge new sign illustrates the uniqueness of this retail area and adds some sizzle to the experience.”
